As a local (and someone who eats way more Mexican food than I probably should 😅), these are a few of my absolute favorites around Elkhart County that you have to try.

1. La Esperanza

If you know, you know.

We go to La Esperanza almost weekly (honestly, it might be a little embarrassing 😂), but it’s just that good. Their chori-queso is a must, it’s become a staple for us every single visit.

The chips and salsa are completely unique, and the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. It’s one of those places that just feels consistent every time you walk in.

2. Don Jose

Don Jose is one of those places where the vibe and experience really stand out.

The staff always goes above and beyond, and it’s a great spot whether you’re going for a casual dinner or celebrating something special. In fact, I love it so much that I’ll be having my bridal shower there later this month!

They even offer options to rent out their bar area, which makes it perfect for events.

3. El Camino Real

If you’re feeding a crowd, El Camino Real is a go-to.

Their fajitas are amazing, and their party packages are always a hit. It’s one of our favorite options for gatherings because it’s easy, delicious, and everyone loves it.

Fun fact: we loved it so much, it’s actually going to be part of our wedding dinner.

4. Rancho Viejo

Rancho Viejo is another local favorite with a great atmosphere.
